Camp Purpose

Our week at Stake Young Men's Camp will combine adventure, teamwork, and outdoor challenges with opportunities for every young man to build lasting friendships, strengthen his faith in Jesus Christ, and teach each young man how to lift where they stand.

Everything you need to know before we head to the lake.

General Information

When is camp?
Camp will be held June 22–26.

  • Priest quorum: Monday–Friday (June 22–26)
  • All other young men: Tuesday–Friday (June 23–26)

Who can attend camp?
All registered young men in the Lewisville Stake are invited to attend. Approved non-member friends may also attend (see details below).

Who is organizing the camp and who should I contact for additional questions?
The camp is planned and directed by the stake Young Men leaders in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the Lewisville Stake YM Camp notebook, with support from ward adult leaders. Each ward has also called an Assistant Executive Secretary who helps coordinate communication and planning between the stake and the ward. For most questions about camp, your ward’s Assistant Executive Secretary should be your first point of contact.

Registration & Paperwork

How do I register for camp?
All registration is completed online through this website. There are three forms that need to be completed. Registration will not be counted until all three forms are submitted.

Cost & Payment

How much does camp cost?
Final cost per YM will be determined by each ward and can be offset by ward-run fundraisers.

How and when do payments need to be made?
Payment needs to be made using the donation slip, under other, YM CAMP.

What if a family or adult cannot afford the cost?
Please contact your Bishop to discuss financial assistance options. No one should miss camp due to financial hardship.

Non-Member Friends

Can young men invite non-member friends?
Yes. Young men may invite non-member friends to attend camp. Attendance is first come, first served until bed capacity is reached.

How do non-member friends pay?
Each ward will determine how non-member friends handle payment.

Arrival, Departure & Transportation

When do young men arrive?
Priest quorum: Monday, June 22 at 12noon.
All other young men: Tuesday, June 23 at 10am.

How is transportation handled?
Transportation will be coordinated through individual wards by each ward's Assistant Executive Secretary. More details will be shared at the ward level closer to camp.

Meals & Snacks

What meals are provided?
Camp Grady Spruce will provide all three meals.

Are snacks provided?
Yes. The stake will provide snacks, and young men are welcome to bring additional personal snacks.

What about food allergies or dietary needs?
Dietary needs will be collected during registration and accommodated when possible.

Medical and Safety

Will there be medical support at camp?
A medical professional will be present at camp to provide assistance as needed. Emergency services are nearby and will be contacted if a serious situation arises.

How is medication handled at camp?
Please list all medications on the registration form. Young men are generally responsible for self-administering their medication, though leaders can help remind them if needed. Any special situation should be coordinated with ward leaders ahead of time.

How can I contact my child in case of an emergency?
Leaders will have phones during camp. Each ward will provide parents with emergency contact information if they need to reach their child while camp is in session.

Phones, Electronics & Rules

Are phones allowed at camp?
No. Youth will not be allowed to have phones during camp.

Adult Leaders & Support

How many adults will attend from each ward?
Each ward is asked to provide at least three adults. Wards with larger participation may be asked to provide additional adult support.

Do adults need to register and pay?
Yes. All adults must register and pay the full cost of camp.

Can ward funds help cover adult costs?
Yes. Bishops have discretion to use ward funds to offset adult costs.

Are there additional adults helping with activities?
Yes. Some adults may assist with specific activities only. These individuals may help with preparation before camp and attend camp for one day to help execute an activity and are separate from the ward’s 3–5 adult leaders.
